THE HISTORY OF CHINA 754- A new attack by the Tang empire against the Nanzhao kingdom of Yunnan is repelled with great losses, the victor responds with a campaign to conquer new regions not only in Vietnam but in China itself.

755- In the Tang Empire, generals An Lushan and Shi Siming finally rebel, each in different territories, against Prime Minister Yang Guozhong, cousin of the concubine Guifei. The mutineers take Changan and Luoyang without resistance, An Lushan proclaims himself emperor and the old Xuanzong is forced to flee to Sichuan, where he abdicates in favor of Suzong and asks the Uighur Khanate of Bayanchur for help.

756-An Lushan conquers Chang-Lan and is proclaimed emperor, an alliance between Chinese and Uyghur against the rebel. Xuanzong's concubine of Tang, Guifei, is executed while the heir Suzong conquers some territories in Gansu against the rebels of An Lushan with the support of an army of Persians and Iraqis, sent by Caliph Abbasid Al-Mansur, while in the North Uyghur Bayanchur's troops also support the dynasty, following the wedding of a khanato princess to Suzong. The kingdom of Tibet takes advantage of the reigning anarchy in China to regain control of the Tarim basin and part of the Ganges river valley. Battle of Yongqiu, between An Lushan and the Tang army, led by Zhang Xun, who conquers victory. In Central Asia, the Turks free themselves from Chinese domination.

757- Emperor An Lushan dies, assassinated by his son Una Qingxu, who seizes the throne, but Shi Siming rises up against the usurper, and a Uighur army under the command of General Guo Ziyi together with Chinese troops, recovers Changan and Luoyang and places in the power to Suzong, of the Tang Dynasty, a serious crisis punishes the country, with very little agricultural production and hordes of peasants wandering through all regions. The provincial governors - including Shi Siming - become independent, while the Uighur khan Bayanchur has converted to Manichaeism, making the Uyghur Khanate the first and only Manichean state in history. In the capital Changan, the Sinhalese Amoghavajra translates numerous writings of Tantric Buddhism, based on magic formulas and circles and esoteric proposals. The riots in the Korean kingdom of Silla force the emperor to cancel the land tax reform. From Tibet, King Trisong Detsen continues his territorial expansion taking advantage of the difficulties of Tang, penetrates through the Gansu and some oases in central Asia and makes an alliance with the Nanzhao kingdom of Geluofeng to conquer the Irrawaddy valley, where the Pyu live and now are The Thais, an ethnic group of Mongolian descent, make up the bulk of the population of the kingdom of Yunnan.

758- The rebel soldier Shi Siming is rehabilitated by Suzong, but soon after they face each other again when a plot against Suzong is discovered. On the coasts of Canton Persian and Arab pirates raid, looting and destroying villages and plantations, the port of Canton, looted and burned, will remain inactive for five decades, during that period most of the ships coming from the Indian Ocean will go to Hanoi , Vietnam, controlled by Tang.
